Blog Post #51: Mall Filming

I decided to film at clips at the mall because my documentary did not reach the 5 minutes. I want to film at the Citrus mall instead of the local one by me because the local one does not have as many shoppers. It also does not have a lot of stores inside it, so I don't think it will push the right message if the mall is empty.
The local mall (Gulf View Square)

The mall I want to film in (Citrus Park)

Here are some scenes I am planning to film to add:
  • Quick cuts of clothing tags
  • Showing prices
  • Trying on outfits
  • Posing in mirrors
  • People walking around the mall
  • The front of shops in the mall
  • Shopping bags
  • Possibly interview a worker
The reason why I changed the setting is because I have a lot of ideas for things to film at the mall. I struggled finding things to film in my house, I was running out of possible things I could use for scenes. I think filming at the mall with help me a lot in getting the best clips for my project. I will try to make them creative and cinematic. The mall is a really good setting because there are a ton of props to use and it is very good for the topic of overconsumption. It will emphasize my meaning of the film because it is showing off overconsumption first hand.
