Blog Post #47: Editing - Part 1

The first thing I edited is the interview. This is because it would be easier to film the rest of the scenes based off the clips I already filmed. I also had a clear idea for what I wanted to incorporate in the interview and title sequence.

For every clip of him talking I increased the volume so it was clear. The max volume is not too loud, but a perfect noise level for the interview. Also, since I filmed inside an empty classroom, there was no background sound at all. Planning to make sure the room would be empty benefitted me greatly. If there was any background talking or audio it might have been hard to hear him. Another thing I did to the sound was create a sound bridge from the title sequence to the first clip of him talking. I discussed this in the other blog post. The sound bridge is visible in the second photo below. How I did it was I split the audio from the clip so I could adjust where his voice was without messing with the actual video. Then, I lined up the rest of the audio to match up with his mouth. I also cut out any times he messed up, such as stuttering, or bad answers, to have the best possible clips for the interview.

For the title sequence, I haven't filmed the scenes before the title yet. I have the music picked out for when I do add the scenes in, so all I have to do is unmute it and adjust it to fit in with the title sequence and sound bridge so it flows good. At first I didn't have an idea for the font, I wanted something creative, maybe cursive. Then I found the Vouge font and I think it fits perfectly. It helps attract the specific audience I want. People who are interested in fashion will recognize the font, and it also shows representation of the history behind Vogue and the brand name.
